Ninety seconds is all it will take to learn critical lifesaving skills at our free ‘Learn CPR in 90 Seconds Community Education Station’ this Saturday 14th May at the Mueller College Fete in Rothwell.

Fete goers of all ages will have the opportunity to get hands-on with CPR manikins and practice the basic principles of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) while watching a 90-second video presentation that features our nationally-awarded and humour-tempered video on the new compressions-only CPR technique.

Co-Director of Fluid Learning, Ben Cleaver believes that CPR is now so much simpler to learn and do and something everyone should know.

“Sudden cardiac arrest takes 30,000 Aussie lives every year, more than anything else. Most happen in the home and there’s no way to survive one without getting quality, prompt CPR,” He said. [Continued below…]

The initiative is particularly timely for the region after a Caboolture mother succeeded in reviving her lifeless toddler with CPR just last week.

“The long-term goal is that our entire community, both young and old, are confident responding to a cardiac arrest emergency by calling for help and giving CPR, which should result in lives being saved,” said Mr Cleaver.

“We’ll display a running tally of participants on the day and have set an ambitious target of 200.”

Each participant gets a free sticker, CPR fridge chart and balloons for the kids.

Now in its fourth-year, the Mueller College Fete is a fantastic local family event running from Midday until 7:30pm this Saturday and boasts motocross stunt riders, a clown show, wildlife display, animal farm, live music, face-painting, market and trade stalls and show bags.
